Google has announced the launch of its first accelerator program in India just for women-run companies. Its mission is to facilitate the growth of female-led companies by facilitating.

Google’s goal is to choose 40 promising businesses annually, split between two groups, and provide guidance to each group for three months.
The initiative is open to applications from new businesses that have either raised a seed to series A capital or have a woman on their founding team.
Google launches accelerator program
Aditya Swamy, director of Google Play and Google for Startups, says. “There is a significant group of women that want actually to construct and design and affect society; yet, they do not receive access to funding.”
Swamy brings up that just 6% of the capital that startups raised in India came from female-led businesses, even though these businesses raised billions of dollars.
Only 1.5 percent of the money went to women-led startups wholly run by their female founders.
Swamy added, “From a product point of view, if more companies are started by women, they will really be able to solve the problems that women face, which will make our society truly inclusive.
If we have more companies founded by women, we will have more of a chance to promote gender equality.”
According to Paul Ravindranath G, program manager, Developer Relations & Head of Google Accelerator at Google India, there are three or four primary topics that Google intends to address ethically via this accelerator.
